About Sapphire

Built From Years Inside Legal Tech

Operations, intake, and technology consulting built on a track record of measurable results, not theory.

Matthew DeFrain's background is in building businesses that work, starting with his family's retail business, where he learned early that growth depends less on any single decision and more on how well the underlying systems hold together.

That grounding carried into a career in legal technology and operations, where he's spent years on the parts of a firm that clients rarely see: how leads get captured and qualified, how case management software actually gets configured and used day to day, and how internal workflows either support growth or quietly undercut it. Along the way, he's earned multiple President's Club awards across multiple companies and coached sales teams on how to sell and implement legal technology correctly, not just close the deal and move on.

Among the engagements he's most proud of: developing the intake and case workflows behind a mass tort effort that signed over 10,000 Camp Lejeune clients. Client confidentiality means specific firms, clients, and software platforms can't be named here, but that same standard of process discipline is applied to every engagement.

Sapphire Legal Solutions exists to bring that experience directly to firms: assessing how a business actually operates, then building the intake, technology, and process improvements that let it run more efficiently while staying true to what makes it distinct.
